I go under the monicar ‘The Baps’.First airplay was back in 1996 on BBC
Radio 1’s Maryanne Hobbs evening show. This was a harmonica solo of ‘Oh
Susanah’.I took up guitar in late 2000 and started recording myself
overdubbing tracks using two cassette players.A year or so later I
bought a 4-track digital porta studio which I still use.Three months
ago ‘The Baps’ were played on my local BBC station, the song was ‘Irie
Bell(Mash Badley Remix)’.Last Saturday I had a jingle that I wrote
played on BBC Radio 2’s Russell Brand Show.He is one of the U.K.’s top
comedians and said he thought my work was rather good.Recording is an
ongoing process, and ‘Mash Badley’ will be reworking some of my recent
tunes in the new year.
