We call ourselves grunge, and eventually the others will follow. We grew up listening to Nirvana and Billy Corgan, and we play heavy rock, so : grunge. To us, Hank Williams is grunge too, and the Ramones are pop too, and Neil Young is punk too. Listen to our songs, and you’ll probably think other genres describe our music better, like sixties pop, or country blues, or guitar rock or (why not?) nu-folk. We’re totally ok with all that. But to keep things simple we’ll stick with grunge…
BAND?
The four of us are on stage:
Julax sings.
Huddie plays the guitar.
Bert plays the bass.
Damien hits the drums,
and Jack takes care of everything else
PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE?
In the spring of 2006, after a much-debated change in our line-up, we decided to keep doing what we’ve always loved doing: play a lot. We mainly play compositions of our own, but every once in a while we do a cover of a.o. the Beatles and the Every Brothers.
Lately we’ve been very busy recording as well. Our debut EP, Age Old Moods, is sold out. We have finished recording our new CD: Quanah’s Hunting Day, produced by Steve Houtmeyers, and recorded in the Art Sound studio with JP Kerkhofs. It will be mixed next month and the CD will be released next spring. OUR NAME?
Grand Moff Tarkin is the evil governor in the first and probably best Star Wars movie : A New Hope. He is one of the biggest nazi’s in the post W.W.II film era. We named ourselves after him, not because we are nazi’s, even not because we are dotingly fond of Star Wars, but merely because we thought the name sounded cool. Let’s clear one other thing out : we are NOT Grand Moff Tarkin, we DO are Grant Moff Tarkin. We are also NOT Grant Hoff Tarkin, Grant Mof Tarkin, Grant Moff Torkin, and so on. We are GRANT MOFF TARKIN and nothing else.
