FORTUNATO started rapping 9 years ago during the golden age of hip hop. Born and Raised in the west end of Toronto he was first exposed to the music by his older brother who was in a Breakdance Troop. As he gained confidence he began performing at the now famous BEAT JUNKIE club in TORONTO. He hosted Rehab Thursday’s for a year before moving on to record music with Conscious Thought and ILL DA SHYSTEE. Together they created some classic material and also became the best of friends. suddenly the group was shattered when the news of ill Da Shystee’s Death arrived. The two grieving friends made a pact to finish what they hard started by becoming sucessfull Hip Hop artists. Taking a much more serious approach, they began building a studio and created the group Angerville!

much Time has passed since Fortunato began this journey,but the mission remains the same, music for the soul, in memory of his fallen comrade.

I met Ill Da Shystee in 1999, he was a true disciple of Hip Hop. We rapped together in a group of 8 MC’s known as the A team and performed at clubs and bars throughout the GTA and York Region. He was in the second Battle Tactix show at the opera house and had performed at the Beat Junkie, Tequila Lounge, and clubs in Ottawa and Montreal. He was a great mc, especially when battling.

On the morning of May 6 2002, the body of Luke Marson AKA Ill Da Shystee, was found behind a row of trees at Mussleman Lake in Stoufville, Ontario. he was shot to death, brutally murdered in his prime right before his 21st birthday. Whoever is responsible has never been brought to justice.

Before he died, Luke recorded The Shystee Ep and was looking to sign a deal with a label. His music lives on, thanks to the recordings he left for us, we can now share his music with the world.
